Females
The
Geis cow herd and its offspring are deep-framed individuals,
structurally correct, with good, sound feet and correctly set
legs. High individual performance is also essential, with more
meat per pound of natural feed. Yearlings at Geis Angus average
out from 1,100 to 1,300 pounds at 12 to 14 months of age.
Since
its inception (the herd was founded on foundation females from
the world-class Ed Rene breeding establishment) the Geis Angus
cow herd has been bred from the ground up with strength in
all facets, and power in the structure of both the bulls and
females dropped on the ground every spring. These dominant
objectives provide much of the characteristics that make the
Angus cows at Geis Angus so productive.

"The
Geis family take pride in that their cows that calve
have progeny that are born alive, are vigorous and
suck on their own from cows that are very motherly.
Emphasis at Geis Angus are on brood females that are
easy calving and come from good milking strains."
